Skill at Arms

Skill at Arms

The aim of the cadet skill-at-arms syllabus is to teach cadets the Rules of Safety when handling weapons, to handle and pass the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle Training Test, and to fire the Air Rifle or No. 8 (.22) Rifle to a set standard. This can also progress to firing the Light Support Weapon, and the Cadet Target Rifle, however these are activities generally reserved for senior and more experienced cadets.

Skill-at-arms can be one of the most rewarding and exciting activities in the cadet syllabus, however is also the most dangerous. Therefore it is paramount that proper safety procedures are observed at all times, and a qualified adult instructor is present.
